About Us
The Department of Shared Administrative Services (SAS) was established in 2019 as the Department of Transformation and Shared Services, with the purpose of creating a more efficient government through exceptional service delivery and collaboration across the state government. Act 205 of 2025 changed the name of the department to better reflect the agency’s purpose and mission.
The Department is comprised of the Office of the Secretary, the Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Office, the Division of Building Authority, the Employee Benefits Division, the Office of Personnel Management, Arkansas State Surplus, the Office of State Procurement, and the Office of State Technology.
Additionally, the SAS Business Operations office is responsible for the human resources, purchasing and asset management, accounts payable/receivable, travel and budgeting functions for the Department.
- Aids SAS divisions with the procurement of commodities, technical and professional services,
- Vendor maintenance, and all purchase/travel card transactions
- Facilitates travel arrangements, including out of state travel authorizations, airfare, hotel and
