Overview
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) offers diversified personnel services to all state departments to assist in the achievement of human resource management goals and objectives. OPM consists of 6 teams: 1) Recruiting/Onboarding, 2) Classification and Compensation, 3) Payroll, 4) Training, 5) HR Technical, and 6) Employee Services. OPM is also responsible for preparing, drafting and reviewing legislation, administering the State’s performance management culture and system, and overseeing the State’s grievance program. OPM’s goal is to ensure fairness, equity, and uniformity in the application and administration of all personnel laws, policies, and rules and the optimal utilization of the state’s human resources.
Policy
OPM has the statutory responsibility of administering the State’s Personnel System and establishing personnel policies and procedures to ensure system uniformity across state government in accordance with state and federal law.
Training
OPM Training provides state employees a catalog of training courses designed to meet the continuing need for employee development and improved job performance and satisfaction. Classes are designed to assist agencies with practical training solutions for efficient and effective public service.
