AR PBS Division Director
The AR PBS Division Director is responsible for overseeing one of the core operational areas within the Arkansas Public Broadcasting Service. This entry-level executive role provides leadership and strategic direction for a specific division, such as programming, engineering, marketing, or audience services. The Division Director ensures that programs and services are delivered effectively and align with the mission of AR PBS. This position involves collaborating with other divisions, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Special Job Requirements:
Typical Functions:
Direct and supervise the operations of a designated division within AR PBS, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Develop and implement division-specific strategies, policies, and procedures that support AR PBS’s mission and objectives.
Manage a team of professionals, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
Coordinate with other division directors and senior leadership to ensure cross-departmental collaboration.
Monitor and analyze division performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
Assist in the preparation of the division’s budget and ensure fiscal responsibility in managing resources.
Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, contractors, and vendors as needed.
Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including those specific to public broadcasting.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of public broadcasting, media management, and state government operations.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams.
Proficiency in project management, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with fiscal management, budgeting, and resource allocation in a public sector environment.
Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures to improve division operations and service delivery.
Analytical skills to assess performance metrics, identify trends, and implement necessary changes.
Strong understanding of the public sector, including state government operations, regulations, and compliance.
Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams effectively
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, media management, public administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in public broadcasting, media management, or related fields, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
