Producer

The Producer is responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and production of broadcast content. This position involves working with various teams (editors, graphic artists, and media specialists) to plan, organize, and execute broadcasts that meet the state's communication objectives. The Producer is key to ensuring that projects stay on schedule, within budget, and align with the desired vision.

Special Job Requirements:

Typical Functions:

Coordinate and manage all phases of the production process, from concept development to post-production. Collaborate with editors, graphic artists, and other media professionals to execute the production plan. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including government officials, media outlets, and production teams. Oversee scriptwriting, shooting schedules, and talent coordination. Manage the production logistics, including equipment, locations, and staffing.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication skills for liaising with various teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of broadcast production processes and standards. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Familiarity with editing software and graphic design principles. Problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in media production, communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred. At least 4 years of experience in media production or communications, with a focus on coordination or production management. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
