Post Prison Transfer Board Administrator

The Post-Prison Transfer Board Administrator is responsible for managing the board's operations within the Arkansas Department of Corrections. This role ensures the effective administration of parole and post-prison transfer processes and supports the board in making informed decisions. The position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Special Job Requirements:

Typical Functions:

Oversee the daily operations of the Post Prison Transfer Board. Coordinate and schedule parole and post-prison transfer hearings. Ensure accurate and timely documentation and record-keeping of board decisions and processes. Serve as the primary liaison between the board, offenders, victims, and other stakeholders. Provide administrative support to board members, including preparing reports and managing correspondence. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of board operations. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and agency policies and procedures. Handle inquiries and complaints from offenders, victims, and the public. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Comprehensive understanding of correctional practices and procedures. Knowledge of administrative and office management practices. Ability to analyze financial information and prepare detailed reports. Aptitude for maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information. Capability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, including offenders, victims, and law enforcement officials.

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, business administration, or a related field. Five years of experience in administrative or managerial roles, preferably within the corrections or criminal justice field.
