OAL Deputy IT Gaming Director
The Office of Arkansas Lottery (OAL) Deputy IT Gaming Director is responsible for supporting the oversight, coordination, and technical operations of the OAL's gaming systems. This role ensures the secure, accurate, and efficient operation of the gaming technology infrastructure, including draw systems, instant ticket systems, retail point-of-sale interfaces, and vendor-managed platforms. This position plays a critical leadership role in supervising technical teams, managing gaming-related IT operations, and ensuring regulatory compliance and high system performance.

Special Job Requirements:
Typical Functions:
Support and monitor all core lottery gaming systems, including draw-based games, instant ticket management, player rewards platforms, and digital gaming components. Coordinate with vendors and internal IT Gaming teams to ensure gaming systems operate with maximum uptime and reliability. Oversee the implementation of gaming software and hardware updates, patches, and new feature deployments. Ensure the integrity and security of draw processes, random number generation systems, and ticket validation mechanisms. Monitor system logs and alerts for unusual activity and escalate potential vulnerabilities or breaches according to state and agency policies. Work closely with IT security personnel to ensure compliance with all state cybersecurity protocols and standards. Coordinate system testing and validation for vendor-delivered products and services. Review and approve test scripts, conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and ensure systems function correctly before production deployment. Document testing procedures and maintain comprehensive records to support audit and regulatory review. Direct and manage the OAL ICS Computer Operations and procedures for local and multi-state games. Responsible for IT Gaming standard operation procedures and policies. Assist and facilitate internal and external audits. Train IT Gaming staff and able to perform all IT Gaming job duties as needed. All other duties as assigned by Gaming Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in information technology are required. Three (3) or more years of lottery experience is desired. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
