Nursing Home Director

The Nursing Home Director is the senior executive responsible for overseeing the management and operations of two state government nursing home facilities. This role requires a highly skilled individual who can provide strategic leadership, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and drive operational efficiency. The Nursing Home Director is responsible for ensuring high standards of patient care, staff performance, and regulatory compliance are maintained at both nursing homes. The position involves overseeing financial management, quality assurance, staffing, marketing, project management, and other strategic programmatic and operational aspects of both nursing homes.

Special Job Requirements:

Typical Functions:

Lead and manage all aspects of both nursing homes’ operations, including patient care services, administrative functions, staffing, and budgeting. Ensure that the facilities operates in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including the Arkansas Department of Health standards, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements, and the Arkansas Nursing Home Licensing Act. In coordination with the ADVA CFO, develop and oversee both nursing homes’ annual budgets, ensuring that all financial goals are met and that resources are allocated efficiently. Monitor the quality of care provided, ensuring it meets federal, state, departmental and the nursing homes’ established standards and policies. Oversee recruitment, retention, and training of nursing home staff, ensuring that staffing levels meet regulatory requirements and resident needs. Represent ADVA nursing homes, as appropriate, before legislative committees and at community meetings, health fairs, and public forums, building and maintaining relationships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Ability to identify potential risks to resident safety, staff well-being, and facility operations and take proactive measures to mitigate those risks. Firm knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, including those that govern nursing homes in Arkansas and the broader U.S.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Required Certificates:

Must hold a valid, unrestricted Nursing Home Administrator license issued by the Arkansas State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
