NTI Director

The Northwest Technical Institute (NTI) Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of the institution. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of vocational and technical programs, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, managing subordinate personnel, and fostering relationships with industry partners. The NTI Director will collaborate with educators, administrators, and a variety of assorted personnel in an attempt to enhance the quality of education and prepare students for successful careers in various technical and vocational fields.

Typical Functions:

Develop and execute a strategic plan for NTI, aligning with institutional goals and industry needs. Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of vocational and technical programs and curricula. Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and best practices in vocational and technical education. Manage the school’s budget, resources, and financial planning, ensuring efficient use of funds. Lead and supervise faculty and staff, providing support and professional development. Cultivate a learning environment that supports student engagement, achievement, and career readiness. Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, employers, and community organizations in an attempt to enhance program relevance and job placement opportunities for students. Advocate for policies and funding that support the growth and development of vocational and technical education. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to school activities, programs, and performance. Organize and coordinate events, workshops, and training sessions that promote technical skills, career exploration, and industry partnerships. Stay current with the latest developments and trends in vocational and technical education and workforce development.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Empathy and patience in working with students, educators, and industry partners. Proficiency in using educational technology, workforce development tools, and software.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a vocational and/or technical field of education or a related field, including at least 4 years in a managerial role. Extensive knowledge of vocational and technical education principles, practices, and technologies. Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of assorted personnel, including educators, industry partners, and community leaders. Experience in conducting research, data analysis, and program evaluation. Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to vocational and technical education. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in vocational and technical education and workforce development.
