Marketing Supervisor/Expert

The Marketing Supervisor/Expert is responsible for supervising and guiding the marketing team, ensuring the successful execution of marketing campaigns, and overseeing the day-to-day marketing operations. This position requires expertise in specific marketing areas such as digital marketing, content creation, public relations, or brand management. The Marketing Supervisor/Expert plays a critical role in ensuring that all marketing activities align with the strategic vision of the Marketing Director and the goals of the State of Arkansas.

Typical Functions:

The assignment of supervisory duties is determined by the hiring agency’s operational needs. Non-supervisory roles will serve as senior technical experts. Supervise and manage marketing staff, including marketing coordinators and specialists, ensuring high-quality and timely execution of marketing programs. Develop and implement targeted marketing strategies for specific programs, campaigns, and state initiatives. Manage the execution of digital and social media marketing, content creation, and email marketing campaigns. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjust to improve outcomes, and meet objectives. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all marketing efforts. Provide subject matter expertise in specialized marketing areas such as digital marketing, media buying, or public relations. Assist in preparing marketing budgets and tracking expenditures to ensure compliance with allocated funds. Mentor and train marketing staff, guiding best practices and career development.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

In-depth knowledge of marketing strategies, digital marketing tools, content management systems, and advertising principles. Knowledge of marketing trends and media platforms. Skills: Strong supervisory, communication, and project management skills. Proficiency in marketing software, social media platforms, and digital marketing analytics. Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to create and implement marketing strategies that drive engagement and meet objectives. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least four years of professional experience in marketing or communications, with at least two years in a supervisory role. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
