Marketing Specialist

The Marketing Specialist is an entry-level to mid-level position responsible for supporting various marketing efforts for the State of Arkansas. This position focuses on executing specific marketing tasks, such as content creation, social media management, advertising, and campaign reporting. The Marketing Specialist works under the guidance of senior marketing professionals and provides valuable support in the implementation of marketing strategies.

Special Job Requirements:

Typical Functions:

Create and manage content for state websites, social media platforms, newsletters, and marketing materials. Assist in the development and execution of social media campaigns to promote state programs and initiatives. Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide support for public relations efforts, including media outreach and press release distribution. Assist with the creation of advertisements, brochures, flyers, and other promotional materials. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform marketing strategies and campaigns. Ensure all marketing materials adhere to state guidelines and branding standards.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge of marketing principles, social media platforms, content creation, and digital marketing practices. Understanding of public relations and advertising basics. Strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Proficiency in social media platforms, marketing software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to create compelling content and adapt messaging for different audiences. Ability to work efficiently and contribute to team goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least one year of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
