Licensed Clinical Social Worker
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provides clinical mental health services including psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, and case management to individuals in state-operated facilities or service programs.

Typical Functions:
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and psychosocial evaluations. Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based treatment modalities. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and discharge plans. Deliver crisis intervention services and make appropriate referrals as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including medical providers, case managers, probation officers, or educators. Coordinate referrals to community resources, including outpatient services, housing support, and financial aid. May participate in discharge planning and establishing continuity of care with clients. Participate in case conferences, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives. Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies to ensure continuity of care. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and state guidelines. May be required to pursue ongoing continuing education and training in order to renew licensing every two years.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of clinical mental health principles, social work theories and practices, and crisis intervention techniques. Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the NASW Code of Ethics. Ability to conduct clinical assessments, keep accurate and detailed records, and manage disputes. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse communities, develop and coordinate individualized service plans for case records, and make sound decisions in high-stress situations. Ability to provide clinical consultation and/or clinical supervision to subordinate staff. Skilled in time management, organization, and problem solving.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in social work and at least three years of experience in mental health clinics, corrections, child welfare, or a related field. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
Required Certificates:
Must be a Licensed Certified Social Worker in the State of Arkansas. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
