GOV Maintenance Manager

The Governor's Mansion Maintenance Manager will be responsible for all maintenance-related issues within the Mansion complex. The eight- and one-half acre property demands constant attention. In addition to being personally responsible for performing and scheduling maintenance, the Maintenance Manager supervises the Trustee Crew supplied by the Department of Corrections. The Maintenance Manager ensures secure transport of the crew and monitors their necessary supplies. The Maintenance Manager assists the Mansion Horticulturist as needed to ensure all grounds equipment and fixtures are in good repair. The Maintenance Manager works all assigned events and assists as needed including setup and breakdown or tables, seating, etc. This position reports directly to the Mansion Administrator.

Typical Functions:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for daily tasks including but not limited to monitoring generators, boilers, electricity, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; general repair of all buildings and grounds including painting, replacing bad or rotten wood trim, addressing plumbing, electrical, and leakage issues. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for making supply runs and deliveries, monitoring contractors working on property, working closely with the Mansion Administrator, Horticulturalist and Executive Coordinator to ensure all work undertaken is approved and within budget. The Maintenance Manager also works in cooperation with Executive Protection to ensure all security measures are in good working order, including gates, locks, doors, and security cameras.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Working knowledge of general maintenance tasks including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry; Ability to communicate/coordinate with multiple groups including the First Family, Office of the Governor, Executive Protection, Mansion Staff, and the general public; Strong computer skills, preferably with Microsoft 365; Solid organizational, managerial, leadership and planning skills; and ability to coordinate and supervise staff

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent 3 years experience with demonstrated knowledge of maintenance skills Current Arkansas electrician’s license preferred Current Arkansas boiler’s license preferred
