Economic Development Administrator

The Economic Development Administrator leads and manages initiatives that foster economic growth, attract investments, and promote community development within the state. This classification involves formulating strategies, coordinating programs, and supervising operations to advance economic opportunities for businesses, industries, and residents. The Administrator acts as a key liaison between government entities, businesses, and community partners, ensuring alignment with pre-determined state and federal regulations while driving innovation and economic sustainability. Typical Functions:

Develop and oversee strategic plans and initiatives to support economic growth and development. Identify opportunities to attract new businesses, industries, and investments to the state. Collaborate with government agencies, business leaders, and community organizations, to achieve economic goals. Administer programs that support workforce development, small business growth, and infrastructure improvement. Monitor and analyze economic trends to inform policies and strategies. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing economic development activities. Supervise the agency’s budget and resource allocation to maximize impact and efficiency. Represent the agency at public events, conferences, and legislative hearings. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to personnel, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Develop marketing and promotional materials to highlight the state’s economic opportunities and strengths.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, public administration, urban planning, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in economic development, public administration, or related fields. Proven track record of leading initiatives that drive economic growth and community development. Comprehensive knowledge of economic development principles, policies, and funding mechanisms.
