Disability Professional Relations Manager

The Disability Professional Relations Manager leads efforts to maintain and enhance relationships between the state's disability adjudication system and external stakeholders such as healthcare providers, attorneys, advocates, and other relevant professionals. This role involves strategic planning, communication, and problem resolution to ensure the efficient processing of disability claims.

Special Job Requirements:

Typical Functions:

Manage relationships with external healthcare professionals, legal representatives, advocacy groups, and governmental bodies. Develop outreach programs to improve collaboration between disability adjudicators and external stakeholders. Coordinate and resolve complex, high-level disputes or issues related to disability claims. Provide training and educational resources to external professionals about the disability benefits process and regulations. Oversee the development and implementation of policies regarding external professional interactions. Represent the agency in meetings with stakeholders, ensuring a positive public perception.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Advanced knowledge of disability law, including Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strategic thinking and leadership capabilities. Problem-solving skills for managing sensitive and complicated situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 7 years of experience in disability claims management, public relations, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. .
