Disability Claims Assistant
The Disability Claims Assistant is an entry-level administrative support position. They assist Disability Claims Specialists and adjudicators by performing clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, entering data, filing documents, and communicating with claimants to gather additional information.

Special Job Requirements:
Typical Functions:
Perform clerical and administrative tasks to support the disability adjudication team. Schedule appointments and assist with claimant inquiries. Input and update data related to disability claims. Maintain organized filing systems and case files. Communicate with applicants to collect documentation or answer routine questions about the claims process.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Basic knowledge of office procedures and administrative tasks. Strong organizational and clerical skills. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to stay current with emerging trends and technologies in energy and environmental management.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
