Construction Coordinator
The Construction Coordinator provides essential administrative and logistical support to the construction project team. This role involves assisting with scheduling, procurement, documentation, and communication between various stakeholders. The Construction Coordinator ensures that project operations run smoothly by maintaining organized records, tracking materials, and supporting the overall construction team.

Typical Functions:
Assist in the coordination of day-to-day project activities, including scheduling meetings, managing communications, and maintaining project timelines. Help with procuring materials and supplies, ensuring timely delivery to the construction site. Track and maintain records of materials, labor, and equipment usage. Prepare and maintain construction documentation, including permits, inspections, and change orders. Assist in managing subcontractor performance and schedule adherence. Monitor project budget and assist with cost tracking and reporting. Facilitate communication between contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project is progressing smoothly. Ensure that safety and regulatory compliance documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
A thorough understanding of construction processes and terminology. Proficient in using project management software and construction tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore). Ability to organize and maintain project records and documentation. Strong communication skills for interacting with contractors, suppliers, and internal team members. Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management. Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Familiarity with construction project management tools and software. Experience with state or public-sector construction projects is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in construction support or administrative roles. Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications, including years of experience and service, does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
