The Beautician is responsible for providing professional beauty services, including haircuts, styling, and other grooming services, to state employees, residents, or clients within a government facility. This role requires a high level of professionalism, technical expertise, and strong customer service skills. A valid Arkansas cosmetology license is required to perform services in this capacity.

Typical Functions:
Provide a wide range of beauty services, including haircuts, styling, coloring, and treatments to clients based on their needs. Assist clients with hair care and maintenance, offering advice on suitable products, techniques, and styles. Maintain client records, documenting the services provided, hair treatments, and any preferences or instructions for future appointments. Perform scalp treatments, facials, and other beauty services as required, ensuring the highest level of care and professionalism. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, creating a welcoming and respectful environment. Consult with clients to understand their needs and preferences, offering professional advice and suggestions regarding their hair and beauty goals.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Proficient in a wide range of beauty services, including haircuts, styling, coloring, and other treatments for diverse client needs. Skilled in the use of professional beauty tools, such as clippers, scissors, hair dryers, straighteners, and other equipment. Knowledge of various beauty products, their benefits, and suitable applications based on individual client needs. High attention to detail to ensure that all services are performed accurately, safely, and to the client’s satisfaction. Ability to listen attentively to clients’ needs, provide appropriate recommendations, and deliver services that meet or exceed expectations.

Required Certificates:
Must hold a valid Cosmetology license in the state of Arkansas. OTHER JOB RELATED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR ALL OR PART OF THESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, EXCEPT FOR CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS, UPON APPROVAL OF THE QUALIFICATIONS REVIEW COMMITTEE.
