The AR PBS Deputy Director serves as a key leader and trusted advisor to the AR PBS Executive Director. This position involves providing strategic oversight, executive decision-making, and management of the agency's operations. The Deputy Director is responsible for developing long-term strategies, managing high-level initiatives, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of services provided to the public. This role demands advanced leadership and management skills, as well as an in-depth understanding of state government operations and policies.

Special Job Requirements:

Typical Functions:

Oversee the day-to-day operational management of AR PBS, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate with external partners, government entities, and stakeholders to advocate for AR PBS programs and funding. Review and implement organizational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery. Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and industry best practices in public broadcasting.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Extensive knowledge of public broadcasting operations, policies, and state government regulations. Strong leadership, managerial, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and collaborate with stakeholders. Ability to think critically and analytically to solve complex problems and manage large-scale projects. In-depth understanding budgeting, and resource allocation in a state government context. Proficient in conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus-building among different interest groups. Ability to create and maintain a positive organizational culture while driving continuous improvement. Strong background in fiscal management, policy development, and staff management. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, media management, public administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in public broadcasting, , or government operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
