The Applications Supervisor / Expert plays a critical role in managing, analyzing, and optimizing complex software applications to align with an agency's or organization's strategic goals. Typical Functions:
The assignment of supervisory duties is determined by the hiring agency’s operational needs. Non-supervisory roles will serve as senior technical experts. Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of software applications to meet complex organizational requirements. Evaluate existing applications and provide expert recommendations for improvements, integrations, or replacements. Collaborate with a variety of assorted personnel across agencies to understand objectives and translate them into technical solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve advanced application issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Oversee the lifecycle of application projects, including planning, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Develop and enforce best practices for application development, configuration, and documentation. Provide mentorship and training to junior analysts and other team members. Monitor emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on organizational applications. Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and updates to senior management. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, data security standards, and organizational policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in application analysis, design, or support. Extensive experience with enterprise-level systems (e.g., Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management platforms) and integration projects. Proven expertise in advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization of applications. Hands-on experience with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall. Professional certifications such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library, Certified Application Security Engineer, or relevant platform-specific credentials (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft) may be required. Strong familiarity with databases, cloud platforms, and system architecture.
