Darin Mitchell, Vice Chair

Darin Mitchell, GISP, is a senior geospatial professional and manager with over 15 years of experience in GIS program development, information systems modernization, and infrastructure mapping for public land and recreation agencies.

As Manager of Information & Innovation for the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism, he leads enterprise GIS strategy, data governance, and interagency collaboration across natural resource, real estate, and emergency management operations.

A two-time ESRI Special Achievement in GIS Award recipient and NASPD National Innovation Award honoree, Mitchell has advanced statewide mapping standards, broadband and trail planning initiatives, and search and rescue integration.

He serves as Vice Chairman of the Arkansas GIS Board, where he guides policy, standards, and strategic investments in statewide geospatial infrastructure.
